MC is proud to have provided demolition support structural engineering services for the RFK Stadium Demolition in Washington, DC. MC analyzed the structural steel upper seating frames in their temporary, unbraced condition during demolition, including conditions created by the removal of roof framing and precast seating slabs. In addition, MC performed rigging and lifting stability analyses to support the crane-assisted removal of the steel frames, helping to ensure controlled load paths and overall structural stability throughout the demolition sequence. Working closely with the demolition contractor, Bowen & Kron, MC translated existing conditions and prior engineering evaluations into clear, constructible sequencing and lifting guidance suitable for safe field execution on a large, high-risk structure. MC is proud to have supported the successful dismantling of a nationally recognized structure through thoughtful demolition engineering.
