MC is wishing a happy retirement to Terri Norwood, our administrative assistant for the past 20 years. Terri has been an integral part of our day-to-day operations at MC, and her presence and contributions will be sorely missed. She has assisted with everything from proposal development to marketing efforts, and was invaluable when it came to identifying long forgotten job numbers from years past. We wish Terri a wonderful retirement and hope she gets to spend as much time as possible with her family and most importantly, playing with her grandkids.

Please join Morabito Consultants in wishing Kyle Pepper a BIG congratulations for passing the Professional Engineer exam! MC is very proud to say that we now have an amazing 16 PE’s on staff!

Morabito Consultants (MC) has amassed over 30 years of experience in the design of tilt-up concrete structures. MC was afforded the opportunity to partner with St. John Properties and Powers Brown Architecture on the I-97 Business Park Phase III development which included the design of Maryland’s first five-story tilt-up office building. Due to crane limitations with respect to the erection of five-story tilt-up panels, MC utilized a unique 4+1 design and tilt-up construction method. Thanks to the design teams’ innovative approach and a spectacular finished product, this project received an Achievement Award from the Tilt-Up Concrete Association. Check out the link below for photos of the construction process and the finished product!
On November 24th, MC joined Hord Coplan Macht, SRBR Consulting Engineers, and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company among others for the topping out ceremony at Roland Park Place. Everyone had the opportunity to sign a final commemorative beam before it was hoisted to the top of the building. This podium style building features several levels of poured in place concrete framed parking below a transfer level supporting 5 levels of wood framing. WT poured over 5500 cubic yards of concrete, set over 6 miles of joists, and utilized around 2.5 acres worth of sheathing! Congrats to all involved with this exciting project!

The 2020 Turkey Bowl kickoff show featured an extended preview of the new Middle School and Innovative Learning Center at Loyola Blakefield. There are some great shots showing the current construction progress and some wonderful interior renderings of the final product! Jump to the 12:20 mark for the start!
