Building the Future: Career Day at Talbott Springs Elementary School
Morabito Consultants had the opportunity to bring structural engineering into the classroom with Senior Vice President Tony Morabito visiting Talbott Springs Elementary School for Career Day.
Tony introduced students to the role structural engineers play in designing the buildings and spaces people use every day. Using construction drawings and project materials, students were able to get a closer look at how engineers help take a building from plans on paper to a completed structure.
Learning About Structural Engineering in Their Own School
Our firm was part of the design team for the new Talbott Springs Elementary School, giving Tony the opportunity to discuss structural engineering with students inside a building our team helped bring to life.
Students gathered around the drawings to explore the plans and learn how structural engineers work alongside architects and other design professionals to create safe, functional buildings. Hard hats and actual project drawings helped provide a hands-on introduction to the engineering and construction process.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Engineers
Career Day provided a great opportunity to introduce students to structural engineering and STEM careers while showing them that engineering is all around them, including in their own school.
At Morabito Consultants, we are proud not only to help design the places where students learn, but also to have opportunities to share our profession and inspire the next generation of engineers.
