Rob began his journey toward a career in structural engineering when he taught himself AutoCAD R14 in 1999 to help create and design floor plans for houses. Since graduating from Penn State University, he has developed a specialty in the remediation, strengthening, waterproofing, and inspection of concrete structures, all backed with experience in managing the design and cost-estimation of concrete remediation projects worth over 10 million dollars. Rob has developed extensive expertise in the analysis of complex reinforced and post-tensioned concrete structures using state-of-the-art finite element analysis software. In addition to being a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states, he is a licensed Special Inspector in the state of Florida.
Robert joined Morabito Consultants in 2014 and has developed a specialty in the remediation, strengthening, waterproofing, and inspection of existing concrete structures, including parking garages, residential towers, and mixed‑use buildings. His experience includes the evaluation and repair of complex reinforced and post‑tensioned concrete systems, emergency structural stabilization, and the management of multi‑million‑dollar remediation projects. Known for his technical rigor, practical judgment, and clear documentation, Robert is frequently entrusted by owners, boards, and project teams to address challenging structural conditions. In his role as Principal, Robert oversees the firm’s structural and building remediation services across multiple offices and remains actively involved in quality control, mentoring engineers, and advancing the firm’s remediation expertise.
Rob’s skills have been recognized by the Maryland Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers in 2018 when he received the “Young Civil Engineer of the Year Award.” Rob has an aptitude for office efficiency and enjoys developing our Revit standards, master specifications, and engineering reference libraries. Outside of the office, Rob enjoys spending his weekends at home with his wife and two sons, working on home improvement projects, and playing guitar.
