Church of the Nativity
Morabito Consultants provided structural engineering services for a substantial addition to Church of the Nativity in Timonium, Maryland, expanding the existing church to better serve its growing congregation. The project included a new nave with balcony seating, increasing total seating capacity to approximately 1,450 parishioners.
The expanded worship space required careful coordination of balcony framing, long-span structural systems, and architectural sightlines to support a large assembly occupancy while maintaining openness within the sanctuary. The addition was integrated with the existing campus and connected directly to the church’s education center.
A new café space was incorporated into the design to support fellowship and post-mass gatherings. The project reflects Morabito Consultants’ experience with religious facility expansion, sanctuary balcony design, campus integration, and structural systems that support both worship and community use.
