The Delaware Station of the Philadelphia Electric Company is a monumental electrical generating station on the Delaware River in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. Built by the Philadelphia Electric Company in stages between 1917 and 1923, Delaware Station was the city’s largest power plant in the period following World War I. The first phase of construction in the recently abandoned plant involved extensive concrete repair and restoration. The second phase of the project converted the power plant into a mixed-use special event facility also containing office space and apartments. Structural modifications include new framed levels within the building and a vertical expansion of two new levels over a portion of the existing roof. MC served as both structural engineer-of-record and concrete restoration consultant on this project which was a 2024 Grand Jury Award Winner with the Preservation Alliance.
