Union Memorial Garage B

This cast-in-place garage structure was design-built in two phases in the 1970s and 80s and is one of only a few of its type remaining in the Baltimore area. Morabito Consultants has served as structural and remediation engineer for Garage B since 2008, completing numerous studies and repair projects. A major repair, reconstruction, and protection project commenced in 2018 to mitigate the progression of damage and avoid the eventual need to demolish the garage structure. Repairs presented numerous challenges including the shoring of 11 levels of framing to facilitate the complete replacement of severely damaged columns.
