Morabito Consultants has provided structural engineering services for Inn at Perry Cabin, a historic waterfront resort located on the Miles River in St. Michaels, Maryland, since 1986. Over several decades, the firm has supported renovations, expansions, and new construction that transformed the property into a premier Eastern Shore resort while preserving its historic character.
Recent work includes renovation of multiple existing hotel buildings and cottages totaling approximately 50,000 square feet, along with new three-story hotel buildings and residential-style cottages that expand guest accommodations across the resort campus.
A major expansion component includes a new 23,750-square-foot clubhouse with an indoor pool and outdoor amenities, along with structural design services for spa renovations, a conference center, recreational and wellness facilities, maintenance buildings, and a barn facility supporting site operations.
Improvements to the historic Main Inn included structural modifications for new elevators, stair systems, expanded restaurant and banquet spaces, and continued upgrades to guest and public areas. These changes required careful coordination within existing structures while maintaining the architectural character and hospitality experience of the property.
Throughout the multi-phase work, Morabito Consultants coordinated structural solutions with architectural design, field verification, phased construction, active resort operations, and integration of new building systems with existing historic structures.
The completed work represents a comprehensive transformation of Inn at Perry Cabin into a modern waterfront resort campus, blending new construction and historic renovation to enhance guest experience while preserving the character of this iconic Chesapeake Bay destination.
