Brown Memorial Woodbrook Presbyterian Church

Morabito Consultants provided structural engineering services for a 6,000-square-foot addition to the Woodbrook campus of Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Maryland. The project created a new sanctuary, narthex, and link structure that connects the addition to the existing church facilities while improving campus circulation and worship functionality.
A defining structural feature is the sanctuary roof framing system, which uses sloped steel plate girders with varying depths to support the architectural roof form. This long-span structural solution creates an open, unobstructed worship space while accommodating the sanctuary’s expressive geometry and vaulted interior volume.
The completed addition provides a cohesive extension of the Woodbrook campus, delivering a modern worship environment that integrates seamlessly with the existing church and reflects Morabito Consultants’ experience with religious facility additions, steel roof framing, and architecturally driven structural design.
