Marriott Residence Inn
Morabito Consultants provided structural engineering design services for Marriott Residence Inn, a 14-story, approximately 100,000-square-foot urban hotel development with an associated 9,000-square-foot parking garage. The project includes guest suites, hotel amenities, a fitness center, restaurant space, and integrated parking support.
Following completion of the initial structural design and construction, the owner elected to modify the floor plan of every guest room, resulting in extensive revisions across the full building footprint. These changes required a comprehensive structural reevaluation and close coordination with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
Morabito Consultants redesigned structural components to support revised suite configurations, addressing modified floor openings, penetrations, framing conditions, and loading requirements throughout the building. The redesign required responsiveness, technical coordination, and careful adaptation of an already constructed urban hotel structure.
Through efficient redesign and close collaboration with the project team, Morabito Consultants helped deliver updated guest room layouts that met owner program goals while maintaining structural performance, guest comfort, and long-term functionality.
The completed project demonstrates Morabito Consultants’ ability to adapt complex hotel structural systems to evolving design requirements within the constraints of an active urban hospitality development.
