Located in a busy urban area, this new 8-story outpatient center for Kennedy Krieger required innovative solutions to achieve its goals. The building connects with the adjacent existing parking garage via a pedestrian bridge at the second floor, which cantilevers off the new structure. Property line construction on two sides of the building required careful coordination between sheeting and shoring and the basement walls and required combined column footings and toe-only retaining wall footings with no projection outside the building.
