In 1914, the Hippodrome Theater was central to Baltimore’s cultural landscape. When it was restored and renovated into a performance center with a 2,200-seat auditorium, Morabito Consultants reviewed and assessed the building and adjacent structures and provided expertise to bring them up to date including reinforcement of balcony slabs, strengthening of roof trusses (for new catwalks), and expansion and modernization of the orchestra pit and stage. Today, the Hippodrome Theatre, now The France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, is Broadway’s home in Baltimore.
