Morabito Consultants provided structural engineering services for Hilton Ocean City Oceanfront Suites, a 17-story, 300,000-square-foot oceanfront hotel in Ocean City, Maryland. The high-rise hospitality development includes 230 guest rooms, resort amenities, conference and ballroom facilities, restaurants, and complex elevated recreation spaces designed for a premier coastal destination.
A major project feature is the expansive terrace level, which incorporates three elevated pools and a large slide feature. These amenities required careful coordination of structural framing, pool loading, waterproofing interfaces, durability requirements, and long-term performance within the high-rise hotel structure.
The development also includes a six-level, 45,000-square-foot parking garage with approximately 6,000 square feet of office space at the top level, integrating guest parking, hotel operations, and support functions within the resort site.
Given the exposed oceanfront location, the structural design incorporated specialized systems and detailing to resist hurricane-force winds, coastal environmental exposure, and long-term durability demands. The project was recognized for excellence in concrete construction by the American Concrete Institute Maryland Chapter, highlighting the quality and innovation of the structural design.
The completed development delivers a high-performance waterfront hospitality destination that combines large-scale structural systems, integrated parking, complex amenity features, and resilience to demanding coastal conditions.
