Island Creek
Morabito Consultants provided structural engineering services for Island Creek, an approximately 5,500-square-foot custom waterfront residence in Talbot County, Maryland. The home was designed to maximize its waterfront setting while balancing a modest front elevation with a more expressive rear façade oriented toward the water.
The residence includes a two-car garage connected to the main house by a breezeway, creating a welcoming courtyard entry. At the rear, the design opens into a dynamic composition of architectural forms, expansive living spaces, and waterfront views.
The structural system consists of conventional wood framing, including wood posts and beams, roof rafters, and TJI wood floor joists. This approach supports the home’s complex geometry, open interior spaces, and broad rear elevation while maintaining efficient residential construction.
Island Creek demonstrates Morabito Consultants’ experience with custom waterfront home structural design, wood-framed construction, site-responsive architecture, and single-family residences that integrate architectural expression with long-term structural performance.
