Morabito Consultants provided structural design services for the state-of-the-art middle school known as St. Ignatius Hall at Loyola Blakefield in Towson, Maryland. This steel structure contains composite steel floors and a roof framed with metal stud trusses that conceal a recessed mechanical roof well. The exterior walls are a combination of concrete retaining walls and structural metal studs finished with stone veneer that matches the previous construction on the Loyola Blakefield Campus. This project was awarded the 2021 “Excellence in Concrete” award for low rise structures from the ACI MD chapter.
